These are the 3 basic rather elements to keep in mind in order\n to start conducting a constructive analysis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong><em>Understanding your Purpose &amp; Values.<\/em><\/strong><\/li><li> <strong><em>Setting the Context<\/em><\/strong><\/li><li> <strong><em>Using both Divergent &amp; Convergent thinking<\/em><\/strong>  <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"a548\"><strong>Start with UNDERSTANDING YOUR PURPOSE &amp;&nbsp;VALUES<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Defining and understanding your Purpose &amp; Values is the <strong>fundamental step to SWOT to TOWS analysis<\/strong>.\n The better the understanding the clearer the bigger picture. Every goal\n that you set and every move that you make should align with your \npurpose &amp; values.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><strong>PURPOSE\u200a\u2014\u200ais THE very reason of your existence<\/strong>.\n Something that gives meaning to your life. Something that makes you \nhappy and fulfilled and everything you do, revolves around it.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>If this sounds philosophical I got another one for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Purpose simply means the reason for which something is done.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, basically when you know why you are doing something&nbsp;, you do it with determination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For e.g.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong><em>Your purpose could be achieving financial freedom by doing something you love.<\/em><\/strong><\/li><li> <strong><em>Your purpose could be helping a massive number of people in the society with any of your skill set.<\/em><\/strong> <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><strong>VALUES<\/strong>\u200a\u2014\u200a<strong>These are your standards of behavior <\/strong>and\n the ways of doing things that you think are correct in the way you live\n and work. When your actions &amp; decisions align with your values, you\n experience happiness &amp; peace of mind.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>For e.g.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong><em>Your Values could be Honesty, Discipline, Commitment or Timeliness etc.<\/em><\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>That\n means&nbsp;,every time you make a choice or a decision it should fulfill or \nbring you closer to your purpose and match your values.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"840c\"><strong>Now set THE&nbsp;CONTEXT<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>It is basically understanding why we are doing the SWOT analysis?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>What\n is the reason behind doing this analysis, understanding the \ncircumstances in which we conduct this analysis and what outcomes are we\n expecting?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>For e.g. \u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong><em>Are you doing SWOT to get a dream job?<\/em><\/strong><\/li><li> <strong><em>Are you doing SWOT to develop a more successful business strategy?<\/em><\/strong> <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>So every time you make a choice it should be related to the predefined context only.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"47b9\">Remember to <strong>USE BOTH DIVERGENT AND CONVERGENT THINKING<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>When\n we do our SWOT to TOWS analysis we are coming up with different ideas \nand thinking to get an outcome or solve a problem&nbsp;. Convergent and \nDivergent thinking should be the fundamental elements of this process. \nIt is like coming up with ideas and thinking what to do with those \nideas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><strong>Divergent thinking<\/strong>\u200a\u2014\u200aIt  is getting new ideas and going out and exploring new possibilities. It  is open ended thinking involving brainstorming, imagination, flexibility and  creativity etc. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>You will use DIVERGENT thinking <\/strong>while listing down all your relevant strengths, weaknesses, opportunities &amp; threats in context.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><strong>Convergent thinking<\/strong>\u200a\u2014\u200aIt\n is about choosing the best ideas, improving upon them and coming up \nwith decisions.
